I absolutely love Blackstrap. Too bad people couldn't clean up and be a little more respectful of the place. And relocate that skunk please, it traumatized us last night, it ate our chips, twizzlers and our dog bones. Couldn't get up and get a water bc we didn't want to be sprayed. Lol I guess we're in his home so... we'll respect it. Haha
Surprisingly beautiful little beach. Campgrounds look like they would be nice too. Will definitely be visiting more often
Despite no longer having a working ski hill and a pretty rough and narrow grid to take up to the park, Blackstrap is a lovely piece of Saskatchewan landscape. On our last visit during late July, there were hundreds of pelicans on the water. It's great for boating, tubing, fishing, or swimming at the main beach. The park also has plenty of camping and places to walk. There's a big parking lot for boats and fish cleaning huts. As there is no restaurant, and only occasionally a food truck, it's ideal to bring a picnic with you.
Not too bad, the older campgrounds would present problems for folks with bigger trailers. We camped in the new area, it is open and big sites. The road from highway 11 into the campground is atrocious, I cannot believe the province would have a road going into their park in that condition. Its brutal. Would camp here again.
Awesome spot. Has some sweet mountain bike trails.Limited cell phone service which makes things even better.
